Accountants maintain and reconcile financial accounts or records by balancing sheets, filing tax statements, creating journal entries, and maintaining general ledger information. Accountants perform month-end closing procedures, as well as maintain fixed assets. Accountants work primarily within finance but may also work with other departments.
