Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an emergency room setting. License: Virginia license pending accepted, must be obtained prior to start date. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC required; TNCC can be pending at the time of submission but must be obtained before starting. Must-Have: Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma facility with pediatric exposure. Description: This position involves working in a fast-paced emergency room environment. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a Level 1 trauma facility or two years in a Level 2 trauma facility. Experience with pediatric patients is required, but it does not have to be in a dedicated pediatric emergency room. Scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs and weekend shifts are required. The candidate must work two out of three specified winter holidays. Night shifts will consist of either 36 or 48 hours per week. Availability for up to 40 hours of time off during the contract is permitted. The patient ratios during shifts will typically be 4 to 5 patients per nurse. Candidates must have experience with electronic charting systems, specifically Epic. The daily census in the emergency room is around 165 patients, with a total of 71 beds available. Interdisciplinary support services will be available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Travelers may be required to float to different areas within their scope of practice as needed. All candidates must disclose any known background issues prior to submission. Previous employment within this system may require a period of separation prior to being considered for this role. Education: A BSN is preferred for this position. Modules may be required for orientation, with additional time considered billable after non-billable hours are exhausted.
