Design Engineer (AutoCAD)

Job Summary

Looking for a Design Engineer 2 with strong experience in electrical controls, electrical schematics, and CAD design . The engineer will support project-based electrical control designs, schematic development, CAD drawings, and BOM creation. Key Responsibilities

• Design and modify electrical control schematics and hardware designs .
• Read, understand, and develop electrical schematic drawings .
• Work with relay logic and PLC inputs/outputs .
• Create and modify CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD tools.
• Create and maintain BOMs .
• Support project-centric and customized schematic designs.
• Troubleshoot electrical hardware/control issues.
• Collaborate daily with engineering and project teams.
• Support shop-floor activities and gain hands-on understanding of hardware.

Required Skills

• 2 4 years of relevant engineering/design experience .
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical controls and schematics .
• Ability to design electrical controls and hardware.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar Smart CAD tools .
• Knowledge of PLC I/O and relay logic .
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Electrical hardware/control systems experience.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of power systems or utility power .
• Experience creating unique/project-specific electrical schematics.
• CAD-heavy design experience.
• Manufacturing/shop-floor exposure.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required
• Candidates with a 2-year degree + 6+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Relevant Master's degree candidates may be considered with limited experience.
