Registered Nurse (RN) Per Diem - ED

Job Description Summary Registered Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager. Under general supervision, provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients, utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and collaborates with the health care team to achieve desired results. Compensation and Scheduling Experience tiers: Tier III – $47 per hour, commit to 4‑12 hour shifts per 6‑week schedule; Tier IV – $50 per hour, commit to 5‑12 hour shifts per 6‑week schedule. Eligible Clinical Areas Med Surg/Tele Emergency Department Neurology & Critical Care Work at least one weekend or night shift per 6‑week schedule Work or take call two holidays per year (one major and one minor) Scheduling Requirements Per Diem employees will be called upon to fill vacant shifts after full‑time and part‑time employees have been scheduled; per diem hours are not guaranteed. Weekend hours for per diem employees are from 7:00 PM Friday through 6:59 AM Monday; weekday hours are from 7:00 AM Monday through 6:59 PM Friday. Shift availability must be designated at least 14 days prior to assignment. Call‑outs and Shift Cancellations Notify supervisor or designee of any absence at least 4 hours before shift starts. Accept notice of cancellation 2 hours in advance; notice is considered given if a call is made to the employee’s contact number. May be called off first if not needed. If unable to work a required holiday, will be required to work an additional holiday at the supervisor’s discretion. May be asked to take call based on unit needs. Benefits Per Diem employees are ineligible to participate in health, disability, and flexible spending accounts; do not accrue paid‑time‑off or holiday benefits. Resignation and Termination Minimum of 4 weeks’ notice required for termination. May request tier change during annual enrollment, subject to manager approval and performance. Eligible to apply for full‑time status after 6 months of service in good standing. Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. License and Certifications Current South Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
