Civil Engineer, EIT (Construction Materials Testing)

Location: Tempe, AZ

Salary: $65,000 to $80,000, depending on experience

Are you an Engineer in Training (EIT) looking to grow your career with a well-established engineering consulting firm? We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer, EIT with 1 to 2 years of experience to support construction materials testing and geotechnical engineering projects throughout Arizona.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on field experience while developing your technical and project management skills alongside experienced professional engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.
• Assist with construction materials testing and inspection on commercial, municipal, transportation, and residential projects.
• Conduct field observations and engineering assessments at construction sites.
• Review project specifications, plans, and testing requirements.
• Prepare engineering reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, and project teams to ensure quality standards are met.
• Support project management activities, scheduling, and communication.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering consulting, or a related field.
• Experience working on construction projects in Arizona or a neighboring state is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both in the field and in an office environment.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area as needed.
• Ability to perform occasional outdoor field work in varying weather conditions.
