The Mechanical Engineer will work under the direction of the Director of Engineering to specify, design, test, and document design solutions. Additional responsibilities include management of projects and mentoring junior engineers.Education & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field5+ years' experience in specified roleExperience with design project management preferredExperience with 3D solid modeling software, Autodesk Inventor preferredExperience with 3D printers for design validation and production assembly and test assets preferredExperience with production fixtures and automation a plusMust be US person as defined under applicable export control regulations.Responsibilities & Duties:Lead the design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical devices, components, or entire systemsAssist in setting project timelines, estimating budgets, and ensuring deliverables meet technical specificationsCollaborate with other departments during the product specification, design and production launch activitiesInitiate and process Engineering Change RequestsAct as the technical point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and external suppliersPreferred Skills:Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsStrong team player with positive demeanor; comfortable working with multiple functional areasDetail oriented with strong organizational and follow through skillsProblem solving skills with the ability to apply proven solutionsFlexibility to adapt to changing requirements and requests in a fast-moving industryQuick to speak up and communicate when issues are discovered
