Description Join Aztlan Bio as a Electrician and help support a growing, innovative biorefinery in Jefferson, WI. This full-time role offers a Mon-Fri schedule (7:00am-3:30pm), competitive pay of $40 - $50/hr and a strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, sick time, and more. In this role, you will perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance on production equipment and facility systems, troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control issues, install and repair electrical components, and help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility. You will also participate in the facility’s on-call rotation, serving as a Electrician contact for approximately one week every four weeks to support operational needs outside of normal working hours. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical machinery and systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The Maintenance Technician - Electrician will collaborate with other maintenance personnel and production teams to support manufacturing operations and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities Perform preventive and planned maintenance and ad-hoc (mainly electrical) jobs as requested by Shift Production Supervisor, Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Planner. Maintaining and repairing the electrical network and devices of the facility. Maintaining and repairing of lighting systems of the facility. Installs power supply wiring, conduit, and electrical engines for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors and programmable controllers. Electrical sectioning as needed, checking and maintaining if needed. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses with other maintenance team members to repair said malfunction. Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. Active participation in planned plant shutdowns to determine the electrical maintenance requirements of systems and devices within the facility. Requirements Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of related electrical maintenance experience in an Industrial Manufacturing facility. Registered Electrician within the state of Wisconsin or Journeyman Electrician, Industrial license preferred. Occasional exposure to high noise levels. Employee may be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to chemicals used in the process. Humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed boots, flame-resistant clothing, and hearing protection will regularly be required (or may be required). Regularly required to walk, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with fingers, hands and arms; and may occasionally be required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will be required to frequently walk/climb stairs and occasional use of ladders. The employee must be able to climb ladders.
