Help Build the Financial Engine for an Organization's Next Stage of Growth

Good Works Talent is leading a confidential search for a well-established technology and business services organization entering an important stage of growth and transformation.

The organization is evolving its business and product operating model and is building a more forward-looking strategic finance capability to support that evolution. We're seeking a Strategic Finance & FP&A Lead who can work directly with the CEO and senior leadership team to bring greater financial rigor to pricing, product economics, forecasting, investments, and strategic decision-making.

This is not a traditional reporting-focused FP&A position. It's an opportunity to build the capability, influence how decisions get made, and become a trusted financial partner across the organization.

What You'll Accomplish

Build the financial foundation for growth. During your first 90–120 days, develop a more granular understanding of the organization's cost structure and establish product-costing and profitability frameworks that leadership can confidently use for pricing, customer, and investment decisions.

Make finance an embedded business partner. Within six months, introduce practical forecasting, scenario planning, KPIs, and decision-support tools while building strong partnerships across product, technology, accounting, and business leadership. Success means leaders proactively seek finance's perspective before making important decisions.

Bring discipline to pricing and investment decisions. Create repeatable approaches for evaluating new customer opportunities, product pricing, deal economics, ROI, payback, resource allocation, and major investments. Help leaders understand the financial trade-offs behind their choices rather than simply approving or rejecting proposals.

Strengthen executive and Board-level decision support. Translate complex financial and technology economics into clear recommendations and compelling financial narratives that executives, Board members, and key stakeholders can understand and act on.

Help modernize the FP&A capability. Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, automation, analysis, forecasting, reporting, and scenario modeling as the strategic finance function matures.

This is a particularly compelling opportunity for someone who enjoys building, influencing, solving ambiguous problems, and moving comfortably between detailed analysis and enterprise strategy. What Will Make You Successful

You'll likely bring strong experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, or a related discipline, along with a track record of using financial insight to improve business decisions.

Just as important, you'll be a self-starter who can operate without a fully built playbook. You should be able to establish credibility with executives while also working hands-on with product leaders, technology professionals, accounting, and other business partners.

Experience with product economics, pricing, forecasting, investment analysis, technology-related cost structures, and executive-level communication will be particularly valuable. Technology or product-oriented business experience is strongly preferred, although demonstrated learning agility and the ability to quickly understand complex business models will also be considered.

This is a relatively small organization operating within a much larger, sophisticated, and highly regulated industry ecosystem. That creates an unusual combination: the visibility and breadth of a smaller company with exposure to complex enterprise-level stakeholders and decisions.

Location: Wichita, Kansas. This is a hybrid position with meaningful in-person presence expected, particularly during onboarding and the initial relationship-building period. Relocation candidates may be considered.
