Senior Automotive Technician

City Auto Sales Madison, AL

If you're an experienced automotive technician who knows how to diagnose problems, perform quality repairs, and keep a shop moving efficiently, City Auto Sales is looking for you. We're growing our service department and are looking for a Senior Automotive Technician who wants steady work, strong support, and a shop where experience is valued.

This is a full-time, in-shop position with consistent internal repair work, opportunities to handle challenging diagnostics, and a team-focused environment designed to help experienced technicians do their best work.

Why Experienced Technicians Choose This Shop

At City Auto Sales, we understand that great technicians want more than a paycheck. They want a well-run shop, dependable work, quality equipment, and leadership that respects their experience.

You'll have access to:

• $30-$35+ per flag hour, based on experience
• Additional earning potential for strong diagnostic ability and consistent performance
• Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
• 401(k) with a 4% company match
• 120 hours of PTO after only 90 days
• Temperature-controlled shop
• Paid training and ongoing development
• Uniforms provided
• Gym membership
• Employee discounts on vehicles and services
• Weekly company lunches on Saturdays
• Summer cookouts and holiday events
• Annual employee appreciation celebrations
• Bi-weekly pay
• Consistent internal repair work

The Work

You'll work on a steady mix of vehicle repairs and maintenance while helping the service department maintain quality and efficiency. This position is ideal for someone who can work independently, diagnose issues accurately, and take ownership of repairs from start to finish.

Responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical vehicle concerns
• Performing complex repairs and troubleshooting
• Completing preventative maintenance and scheduled services
• Inspecting vehicles and identifying needed repairs
• Communicating clearly with service writers and other technicians
• Participating in daily shop meetings
• Maintaining an organized and efficient work area
• Helping support less-experienced technicians when needed
• Following shop procedures and maintaining high repair-quality standards

You'll have the opportunity to use your experience rather than constantly being micromanaged.

What We Need From You

We're looking for an experienced technician who takes ownership of their work and understands the importance of accurate diagnosis and quality repairs.

Required:

• 8+ years of automotive technician experience
• Strong diagnostic and repair capabilities
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Own professional tools
• Ability to work a rotating Saturday schedule

Preferred, but not required:

• ASE certifications
• Experience in an independent or aftermarket repair environment
• Strong ability to work independently
• Dependable, self-motivated approach to your work

The more experience and diagnostic expertise you bring, the more opportunity you'll have to contribute and earn.

Your Schedule

The service department operates on a structured schedule designed to provide consistent coverage while allowing for flexibility within the team.

• Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM-6:00 PM, rotated for coverage
• Rotating Saturdays
• Closed Sundays
