Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring tele experience and PALS certification due to pediatric admissions.

Details

• Med/Surg unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 78 staffed beds
• Admits pediatric patients alongside the general med/surg population
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:00-06:30)
• Minimum of 3 weekends required within a 6-week period
• Possibility of floating based on unit and hospital needs
• Possibility of being placed on call
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• PALS certification required prior to start per facility policy due to pediatric admissions
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Ambulatory and med/surg experience preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across med/surg and telemetry patient populations, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Scrubs of any color accepted as long as a professional appearance is maintained
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed over Christmas
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for three years before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, with a rate differential applied for local status
