School Bus Driver

School Bus DriverCommunity Unit School District 308 (SD308) is seeking qualified candidates to become school bus drivers for the district. Start/end times vary based on routes, with a split shift generally between 5:45am and 9:15am and 1:45pm and 5:15pm.Compensation: $24.00 per hour (rate of pay could be adjusted up to compensate for experience.) Monthly attendance bonus, longevity bonus. The hourly rate of pay is inclusive of the mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).Benefits: Full-time associates enjoy a robust selection of healthcare benefits including employer paid Life and AD&D insurance, Long Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as three medical plans to choose from including PPO and HMO plans. Skills necessary to operate a school bus safely, communicate effectively, follow determined schedules. In a timely manner, handle emergency situations, evaluations and administer first aid. Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, alcohol, background and TB testing. Exceptional driving record. Knowledge of or ability to learn safety.Performance Responsibilities: Operate the school bus safely while managing and caring for students. Learn and adapt to each student's medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs. Serve as a role model demonstrating positive attitude and self-control. Protect the confidentiality of student records and information. Responsible to secure students who use child safety restraint systems.
