JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for machine operation and crew in a light industrial setting. Must manage machine team to ensure proper and safe operation of assigned equipment. Responsible for quality, output, and meeting production goals. Additionally, fulfills the job duties of a Material Handler 1 and Light Equipment Operator 1 as required.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Production – Monitors performance of machine and personnel; ensures goals are met and communicates issues to Supervisor. Completes all work assignments during production, including material check‑in, pocket set‑ups, offlining material no longer needed, and other assignments as necessary. Applies advanced troubleshooting skills and performs basic maintenance on assigned machines to improve quality and performance. Assists crew members when needed. (40%) Crew Leadership/Training – Organizes crew activities and delegates assignments. Performs assigned duties. Trains and develops all crew members. (30%) Quality and Waste – Monitors product quality for correctness and reports errors. Monitors print and bundle quality; makes adjustments to correct quality issues. Monitors product waste and takes steps to reduce or eliminate spoilage. (15%) Communication/Record Keeping – Maintains accurate records (safety audits, packages per hour, labor hours per thousand and other logs/forms). Communicates personnel issues to Supervisor and informs other operators/supervisors of pertinent information and shifts as necessary. (15%) Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE

3-5 Years related experience Basic computer experience

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Ability to multi‑task Demonstrates ability to line lead or crew lead for one (1) machine Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment (varying upon equipment) Attention to detail Effective communicator (share equipment knowledge, quality, and safety concerns) Ability to troubleshoot machine problems Mathematical skills and advanced skills in production reports Basic computer skills; technical skills may vary based on the equipment Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack Strong knowledge and understanding of machine and manufacturing operations Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language (preferred)

Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and/or stand‑by pay.
