Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Specialty: Med/Surg – Telemetry
Location: Syracuse, New York (NY)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills, telemetry experience, and the ability to care for a diverse adult patient population with minimal orientation.

Schedule

• Day Shift
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed

Required Licensure & Certifications

• Active New York State RN License/Registration
• BLS Certification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience within the last 2 years
• Experience in hospitals of similar size, higher-acuity facilities, or trauma centers required
• Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• First-time travelers considered based on experience

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Initiate and maintain intravenous access
• Draw laboratory specimens as required
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
