Early Childhood Teacher

Nhyouth

Summary Starting August 2026, the Early Care and Education Center at Plymouth State University will operate under the umbrella of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire. This high-quality early childhood program serves as both a nurturing learning environment for young children and a hands‑on training site for university students. Grounded in developmentally appropriate, play‑based practices, the center supports children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth while fostering strong partnerships with families and the university community. We are seeking dedicated team members to join us this August. This is an exciting opportunity for passionate educators to become part of a collaborative, mission‑driven team, make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, and grow professionally within a supportive and dynamic environment. Duties Prepare Youth for Success Creates a responsive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes Youth Development Outcomes while serving as a demonstration site for best practices in early childhood education. Designs and implements curriculum grounded in emergent practices, using intentional planning that is transparent and instructional for observers. Explains the rationale behind instructional decisions to connect theory to classroom practice. Uses systematic member observation and documentation (anecdotal notes, developmental assessments, portfolios, learning stories, etc.) as tools for curriculum planning. Maintains accurate and up‑to‑date records. Establishes and maintains program goals that prioritize member health, safety, and social‑emotional well‑being, while demonstrating regulatory compliance (NH Child Care Licensing Regulations, Boys & Girls Clubs of America safety rules) and ethical practice. Continuously accounts for members in the assigned group by name and face, modeling active supervision and safety protocols. Oversees implementation of NAEYC standards, GSQ (when applicable), Culture DNA code, and BGCCNNH and CCLU policies, explicitly connecting accreditation standards to classroom practices for student learning. Dispenses medications according to company policy, administers first aid as needed, and communicates appropriately with families—modeling professional responsibility and documentation practices. Maintains a well‑organized, safe, and aesthetically intentional classroom environment that reflects best practices in early childhood settings and serves as a learning model for observers. Assists with cleaning and upkeep of the classroom. Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision Utilizes proper record‑keeping and weekly reporting, including documentation of activities and events in the membership system; collaborates with Center Director and staff to analyze data for program improvement. Facilitates open, professional, and reflective communication with families, staff, members, and college/university partners. Ensures that the college students or adult learners are supported in the absence of the Mentor Educator. Leads or participates in collaborative planning meetings with the teaching team and may facilitate reflective discussions that include student educators. Increases visibility of programs through daily schedule postings, documentation displays, family communication, and digital platforms to showcase member learning and pedagogical approaches.
