Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers (MRCE) is seeking mid to senior-level Geotechnical Engineers with 4+ years of professional experience to join our growing team. MRCE is a leading engineering consulting firm known for complex urban projects and innovative geotechnical solutions. Our engineers work on a wide range of challenging projects and collaborate closely with senior engineers and firm leadership.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Conduct site visits and perform available information research for new and ongoing projects
\n
• Plan and perform subsurface investigations, including:
\n
• Inspecting and logging borings
\n
• Field soil classifications
\n
• Test pits, cone penetration testing (CPT), and other field testing
\n
• Perform pre- and post-condition surveys of buildings and structures
\n
• Perform and oversee instrumentation monitoring for buildings, transit facilities, and infrastructure (e.g., seismographs, crack gauges)
\n
• Perform and/or oversee inspections for new foundation construction, including:
\n
• Deep and shallow foundations
\n
• Subgrade preparation
\n
• Support of excavation systems
\n
• Underpinning systems
\n
• Pile load testing
\n
• Interpret soil and rock testing data to define subsurface conditions and develop parameters for analysis and design
\n
• Assist in developing geotechnical models and subsurface profiles
\n
• Prepare daily field logs and communicate investigation or construction progress with project teams
\n
• Prepare and review inspection logs and reports for construction approval and code compliance
\n
• Assist in the preparation of geotechnical engineering and construction reports
\n
• Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, and clients as needed
\n
• Perform other duties as assigned
\n

Travel Requirements

\n
• Local travel by public transportation or company vehicle for equipment transport
\n
• Occasional long-distance travel by air or train, including overnight stays
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program
\n
• Experience: 6+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
\n
• Engineer in Training (EIT) ; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or actively pursuing
\n
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Revit preferred
\n
• Experience with geotechnical software such as LPILE, A-Pile, Slope/W, Seep/W, Settle3D, WinStress, or similar programs preferred
\n
• Strong understanding of field investigations, construction monitoring, and geotechnical analysis
\n
• Willingness to spend time in the field on short- or long-term assignments
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
\n
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
\n
• Ability to professionally represent MRCE on job sites and with clients
\n

• Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experience, education, certifications, and market conditions
