This is an 8-week assignment. Position / Specialty: PCU. Years of experience required: 1.5 years. First timers accepted: Yes. Locals accepted: No. Float required: Yes, Med Surg may take 6 patients. RTO restrictions: Must work 2/3 major holidays.

Guaranteed hours: 8 and 10 hr. shifts - 40 hrs. in one workweek. 3, 12 hr shifts - 36 hrs. in one workweek. 4, 12 hr. shifts - 48 hrs. in one workweek.

Skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood product administration, Central line care/management, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Feeding tube care and management, Heparin protocols, High flow nasal cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, Manage cardiac drips- no titration, Management of dysrhythmias, Nasal cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Pacemakers/Temporary/Permanent, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Peripheral line care/management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Post cardiac angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post cardiac cath, Renal failure, Seizure disorders, Starting and maintaining IVs, Substance withdrawal, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Titration of insulin drips, TR Band, Tracheostomy care/management, Wound care/wound vac.

Patient diagnoses: Cardiac: NSTEMI, Angina, Pre/Post pacemaker, Pre/Post cardiac cath, CHF, HTNRespiratory: COVID, COPD, PE, Trach, Pneumonia, Chest tubes, Asthma, EmphysemaNeuro: Status epilepticus, CVA/TIAMental health: Active alcohol withdrawal with treatmentGI/GU: GIB, Pancreatitis, Bowel obstruction, acute/chronic liver patients, CBI, Dialysis (peritoneal & Hemo- treatment performed by Davita Nurse)Endo: DKA, IDDM, NIDDMGeriatric, Sickle cell anemia.

Special procedures/unit details: Cardioversions, 12-lead EKG, Cardia monitors, Drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Tests: Phlebotomy (lab collection), ABG via EPOC.
