Housekeeper

Housekeeper Anant is seeking an experienced Housekeeper, capable of consistently maintaining high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail. As part of our hospitality team, teamwork is paramount and vital to the overall guest service experience. Our ideal candidate has previous experience in hospitality and housekeeping; however, this experience is not required in order to apply. Because our housekeepers regularly interact with guests, we are seeking an individual with a friendly attitude and personable nature to ensure that guests feel comfortable and welcome during their stay. This individual is also able to meet the physical demands of this position throughout the duration of each shift. Job Functions Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cartwith supplies, constantly maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean andorderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms. Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures inrooms, public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools to cleanhard to reach areas, in order to maintain a clean, presentable andattractive facility at all times. Wash shower walls and tub, clean toilet(s) and stall walls ifapplicable, wipe exposed pipes, and clean mirrors, sink(s) and walls inorder to have clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms. Replace towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocksliterature that has been removed by previous guest or is soiled and tornto ensure adequate supply for arriving guests. Wash all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand to removedirt and soiled areas. Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures and wall hangingsincluding using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners to remove dustand cobwebs. Strip bed of all linen and remakes with fresh linens, checkingbedspread, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness, replacing ifsoiled. Lift mattresses to checkfor soil between mattresses and under bed. Check closet for cleanliness, wiping closet door, handle andoverhead shelves and restocking the guest room supplies such as hangers,extra blankets and pillows. Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways, operating vacuumsweighing up to 25lbs., and lifting/moving heavy furniture in order tovacuum entire area of carpet including underneath furniture and hard toreach areas. Inspect all door and window locks to ensure they are in workingorder and immediately alerts management to an unsecured or unsafesituation for the safety of guests and employees. Inspect all room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, radios) toensure proper working order and immediately reports all room status androom maintenance deficiencies, in writing, to the Executive Housekeeperfor prompt repair/resolution. Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and supplies atall times in order to protect and preserve hotel property. Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times. Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary bymanagement. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able tocommunicate effectively with the public and other team members. Must be willing toassist co-workers with their job duties. Must be able tolearn new tasks quickly and thoroughly. Must follow allappropriate policies and procedures. Must possess excellentorganizational skills. Must be able to meetpersonal appearance and cleanliness or hygiene standards. Must be able toeffectively manage time. Must have excellentwork history and attendance record. Must be able to workflexible hours, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Must have visionability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas, and to read writteninstructions and computer printouts. Must have upper bodystrength to lift up to 50 lbs. continually throughout an 8-hour shift. Must have finger,hand and upper body dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment andfurniture throughout 8-hour shift. Must be able to workwith arms raised above head throughout an 8-hour shift. Must be able to tomaneuver fully loaded maid cart, weighing up to 50lbs., through hallways andinto/out of closets during entire workday. Must be able tocomplete 2.5 rooms in a one-hour time frame. Education and Experience High school diplomapreferred. Experience inhousekeeping or janitorial work preferred but not required. Must have basicknowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products andoperation of standard cleaning equipment.
