Speech Language Pathologist

Riviera Healthcare Center in Pico Rivera, CA actively seeking a Full Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in‑house therapy team. CFs are welcomed for Full Time with onsite supervisor and will also take PRN (no CFY PRNs). Welcome to Riviera Healthcare Center located in sunny Pico Rivera, California. Areas of Treatment Focus Improving speech and voice clarity Increasing comprehension and verbal expression Improving chewing and swallowing ability Maximizing cognitive language skills: memory, problem‑solving, and abstract reasoning Resident and family/caregiver education and training for managing ongoing difficulties with communication, cognition, and swallowing Responsibilities Evaluate residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits Help residents achieve goals to improve cognition of swallowing Education for residents and caregivers Provide skilled, medically necessary speech and language therapy assessments and develop and implement individualized treatment plans to increase client independence and functioning Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders Provide training and education to clients, families, caregivers, and other professionals as a subject matter expert Coordinate and collaborate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures (MBSS, FEES) as ordered by physician Demonstrate competent technical skills according to current Speech Therapy standards of practice Communicate changes in residents’ condition Provide accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation Respond to family requests and concerns in a timely manner Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other care staff Assure resident abuse or neglect does not occur Observe confidentiality and safeguards for all patient information Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements Career Advantages In‑house opportunity Practice in an environment built on integrity and progressive, ethical care Clinical expertise and training available Electronic documentation system Work collaboratively with a supportive team of therapists and nursing staff Flexible schedule Full Benefits/PTO Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or equivalent Valid state licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist Proficient in speech therapy techniques and patient assessment Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Experience working with patients with dysphagia Excellent communication and patient care skills #J-18808-Ljbffr QRM Health
