Position Summary

Watertown Public Schools is seeking an experienced and results-driven Educational Grant Writer to identify, develop, and secure grant funding opportunities that support district-wide initiatives, programs, and services. This commission-based role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with a strong background in educational grant writing and a proven track record of securing funding from federal, state, local, and private sources.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in an educational setting
• Demonstrated success in securing grant funding from government and/or private sources
• Strong research, writing, and editing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
• Familiarity with grant compliance and reporting requirements
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with district priorities and strategic goals
• Collaborate with district and school leadership to gather program information and funding needs
• Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals within required timelines
• Develop compelling narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation for applications
• Track submission deadlines, application status, and reporting requirements
• Maintain a grant calendar and database of opportunities and outcomes
• Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including documentation and reporting
• Provide guidance to district staff on grant-funded program implementation as needed

Terms of Employment

• This is a commission-based position
• Compensation is based on a mutually agreed-upon percentage of successfully awarded grants
• Payment terms and percentage will be established prior to grant submission

Additional Duties

Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
