Position: Floor Care Technician (Full-Time or Part-Time) Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM o Location: Great Falls, Montana Reports to: Environmental Services Supervisor / Housekeeping Manager Compensation: $14- $17 per hour (based on experience) + shift differential for evenings plus excellent benefits including health insurance, PTO, and paid training.

Job Summary We're seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Floor Care Technician to handle specialized floor maintenance, including stripping old wax/finish, deep cleaning, and applying new wax or floor finish. This evening role ensures minimal disruption to residents during the day while maintaining spotless vinyl composition tile (VCT), tile, and other hard surfaces throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform floor stripping using appropriate chemicals and equipment to remove old wax, buildup, and soil from VCT, tile, and other hard floors.

• Deep clean floors with scrubbers, auto-scrubbers, and buffers to prepare surfaces for refinishing.

• Apply multiple coats of high-quality floor finish/wax using mops, applicators, or machines for a durable, glossy shine.

• Operate commercial floor care equipment safely and efficiently, including floor scrubbers, buffers, and extractors.

• Maintain hallways, resident rooms, dining areas, therapy rooms, and common spaces to infection control and aesthetic standards.

• Follow safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, chemical handling, and wet floor signage to protect residents and staff.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as dusting, spot cleaning, and trash removal as part of the shift.

• Inspect floors daily/weekly for damage, report issues, and coordinate repairs.

• Work independently during low-traffic hours while adhering to facility policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., infection prevention).

• Qualifications

  • Previous experience in commercial floor care, including stripping, scrubbing, and waxing (healthcare or long-term care experience preferred).

  • Knowledge of floor care chemicals, equipment, and techniques for VCT/tile floors.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently during evening/overnight shifts.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license preferred (for occasional supply runs).

  • Commitment to safety, infection control, and resident dignity.

  • Willingness to complete facility-specific training and certifications.
