Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides skilled therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of an occupational therapist. This role involves assisting patients in improving their functional abilities, particularly in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting. The COTA utilizes knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and relevant computer systems to support patient care and documentation. Responsibilities:

• Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans to improve patients' functional skills.
• Provide direct patient care and therapeutic interventions in accordance with established protocols.
• Document patient progress and treatment data using Rehab Optima (NetHealth) computer system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with facility policies and procedures.

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in California.
• Experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) environment.
• Proficiency with Rehab Optima (NetHealth) computer system or similar electronic medical record systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Additional experience with rehabilitation therapy techniques and patient care in post-acute settings.

• Work performed primarily in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting.
• Ability to adhere to facility policies and maintain patient confidentiality.

• Work schedule and shifts will be assigned based on facility needs and patient care requirements.
