PRIMARY FUNCTION

Directs/manages overall daily operations of the designated site with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration. Pay: $16/hour

DESCRIPTION

Directs/manages overall daily operations of more than one after school and summer program with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration. Additional duties include building and maintaining collaborative relationships with multiple different school district personnel, Club families and administration, and promoting/increasing awareness of Club impact to ensure attendance goals are met. Advise and assist site staff in the areas of volunteers, personnel management, and programs. KEY ROLES (essential job responsibilities) Leadership Help establish site programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes. Encourage and support effective organization roles and functions for Site Coordinators of assigned sites (acting as liaison to sites and keeping them advised of activities and needs) and administrative staff (grant report information; financial and budget documentation; media and community appearances). Hold staff accountable for organizational communications needs Prepares reports and written documentation for the purpose of evaluating the impact of the program. Monitors budgets of assigned sites and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate; expenses and revenues are within budget; program fees are collected according to policy Help ensure a healthy and safe environment regarding facilities, equipment and supplies. Act professionally at all times with all staff , members and parents Strategic Planning Help plan, develop, implement and evaluate site programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation. Program oversight Ensure after-school and summer programs achieve goals outlined in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Formula for Impact Provide leadership and coaching to Site Coordinators in the management of their designated sites. Attends and participates in staff meetings and keeps sites advised. Ensure an environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, with overall responsibility for cleanliness, attractiveness, and safety of properties and equipment Ensures quality improvement of programs by conducting program evaluations and annual written analysis of member and site needs Oversee grant-required program activities in accordance with established standards and goals. Evaluate programs on a continual basis and ensure programs/activities are in keeping with gender and cultural diversity. Supervision Oversee proper record keeping and reporting, including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of participation figures, and any member conduct or other issues. Ensure productive and effective performance of program staff and volunteers. Ensure effective implementation of recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coordinating, and maintaining of staff ratio and licensing requirements. Partnership Development Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations. Collaborates with others (e.g. multiple different district personnel, parents, community organizations, ) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs. Develop collaborative partnerships with public, civic groups, and social agencies to foster community initiatives and possible fundraising Represents the organization and interprets its objectives, standard, and programs. Strengthen and maintain a positive relationship with multiple different school district principals/personnel, community agencies, and partners. Additional Responsibilities Serve as Site Coordinator or Unit Director for sites as needed. Assists other administrative and program personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of the organization's work activities. May be required to drive Club van periodically. May be required to answer phones and perform other light administrative duties. Work with staff on special events to carry out programs. Exercise authority in problems relating to members and staff ; utilize guidance and discipline plan. Conduct weekly site meetings with staff to communicate important information. Keep desk and facility clean and tidy. Conduct fire and tornado drills monthly. Communicate attendance numbers daily/weekly with direct supervisor. Maintains the Member Tracking System (inputs attendance and program descriptions). Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal Maintain close contact with Club staff and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel. Has regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advise and counsel. External Maintain contact with school members' parents or guardians in order to communicate about Club activities, explain or interpret guidelines, address any conduct issues relative to members. May be required to communicate with or work closely with school principal and class room instructors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Knowledge Required High School diploma or GED (required) Demonstrated ability in working with children, parents and community leaders Knowledge of youth development Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision and facilities management Ability to deal with the general public (both verbal and written) Ability to supervise and motivate staff Valid State Drivers License (van drivers only) Skills/Knowledge Preferred Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience in Youth Development, Elementary/Secondary Education or similar degree. Supervisory experience. CPR and First Aid Certifications (training provided) Proficiency in word processing and creative computer software applications
