Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant- Per Diem

Per diem requires commitment of 2 shifts/month. Job Summary Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu‑like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside a physician, an Advanced Practitioner must have excellent assessment skills to recognize more serious conditions and direct patients to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. Job Requirements 2‑5 years of post‑residency clinical experience required. Minimum 18months experience in applicable practice setting. Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred. Education Bachelor’s Degree required for Physician Assistants. Master’s Degree required for Nurse Practitioners. Required Licenses/Certifications National Certification. Active state medical licensure. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting. Applicable office procedures including, but not limited to, suturing, splinting, etc. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records. Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Essential Functions Examining and treating patients. Taking patients' medical histories. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X‑rays. Making diagnoses and prescribing medications. Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting. Recording progress notes for follow‑up patients. Educating and counseling patients. Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients. Giving vaccinations and referring patients to additional care. All other duties as assigned. Each provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift, which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care.
