Maintenance Manager

Maintenance Manager – JLL This role leads a multi‑site maintenance team, oversees Area Maintenance Managers, and ensures a safe working environment across all sites. Responsibilities Support the Operations team in a safe, customer‑focused manner. Develop and design innovative solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors, and be on call for emergencies. Handle multiple internal and externally sponsored projects, meet deadlines, and track plans to accomplish departmental and distribution goals. Work with local site Safety department leadership to understand, implement, and audit safety programs and ensure all safety procedures are followed. Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and build strong working relationships with operations leadership. Facilitate technical and safety training and help develop professional growth for departmental facilities associates. Mentor all maintenance associates by motivating them and providing direction to help achieve their goals. Develop maintenance department business plans and provide guidance for successful implementation. Collaborate with site Finance to develop, set, and track budgets. Participate in Kaizen activities for the site and the broader network. Develop capital spending plans, facilitate cross‑functional project planning, and perform cost analysis. Own and promote excellent housekeeping practices. Participate in weekly network maintenance calls and periodic off‑site conferences. Provide specific, enriched feedback to enhance individual performance and conduct written performance appraisals, including discipline and termination. Travel up to 20% as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Preferred: Bachelor’s in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil). Ability to travel to various sites as needed. 5+ years of experience in distribution or manufacturing with equivalent mechanical or electrical experience. Experience with: Automated conveyor systems and controls Electrical and electronic principles Blueprint and electrical schematic reading CMMS programs Preventive maintenance procedures Industrial electrical and controls Industrial electronics Industrial PC literacy National Electrical Code (NEC) Strong partnership and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects. Six Sigma Certification. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. Physical Demands Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking; lifting parts and tools averaging 20 lbs, sometimes up to 49 lbs; requires eye/hand coordination, foot (pedal) and wrist motion; work may involve small spaces, dust, fumes, hot/cold temperatures, vibrations, and wet or uneven surfaces.
