We have a reputation for offering an outstanding benefit package to our employees that work 30 or more hours per week.* Generous PTO (Paid Time Off)* 11 Paid holidays* Paid Bereavement Leave* Paid Jury Duty leave* Training and advancement opportunities* 401k with match up to 6%* Mortgage discounts* No interest employee loans for work wear* Paid volunteering at ACU sponsored events* Bonus opportunities* Company paid long term disability and life insurance* Full Medical, Vision and Dental benefits* Annual employee event for all staff and their families* Employee Assistant Program (EAP)**Department Hours:****Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm****The Pay Range:**$25.38 - $34.98 per hour Our compensation structure is designed to accommodate candidates with diverse levels of expertise and experience, offering opportunities for growth over time. **The target hiring range for this role is $25.38- $28.58**A day in the life of an ACU ACCOUNTANT II:* Prepare and review complex general ledger reconciliations and account activity, identify the cause of discrepancies, recommend corrective entries, and coordinate resolution with appropriate departments or service providers.* Complete assigned daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities accurately and within established close and reporting deadlines.* Assist in month-end close procedures* Ensure accurate accounting for the fixed asset and prepaid asset portfolios. Prepare depreciation schedules and catalog furniture, fixtures, and equipment* Assist with the accounts payable process* Prepare recurring and nonroutine journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and corrections, with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation.* Work with Controller and other Accounting staff to prepare for annual external audits and NCUA examinations* Respond to accounting-related questions from branches and departments, research transaction discrepancies, and provide accurate guidance or route matters to the appropriate resource.* Provide exceptional service to all members, volunteers, staff, and service providers* Assist in the preparation of the quarterly NCUA Call Report and other regulatory reports* Assist with credit union investment functions including purchases, balancing, and recordkeeping* Provide cross-training and technical support to other Accounting team members.* Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency* Assist in reviewing and updating departmental procedures* Perform complex accounting tasks with minimal oversight* Apply and evaluate internal controls within assigned accounting processes and promptly communicate identified control gaps or unusual activity.* Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned, consistent with the general scope and level of the position.## Qualifications**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience. Two years of progressively responsible accounting experience required; financial institution experience preferred.**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES*** Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Practices* Proficient using computers and software including Symitar, Excel, Microsoft Word, 10-Key calculator, and other office equipment.* Attention to detail* Ability to problem solve and research when necessary* Knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, regulations, and procedures* Must have excellent interpersonal skills; be highly motivated and well organized* Ability to work well under pressure* Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing* Ability to exercise tact and responsibility with handling confidential information* Intermediate mathematical and account skills**ACU is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Disability/Veteran employer.
