The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to adults and geriatric patients with various medical diagnoses, including renal conditions.Scheduling DetailsShift Hours: 3x12, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AMWeekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling blockHoliday Requirement: Must work one holiday during each 13-week contractFloating Requirement: May be required to float within skill setCharting and ExperienceEpic charting experience is requiredAccepts first-time travelers, as well as local applicants under the radius rulePending license accepted if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact stateRequired CertificationsACLSBLSNIHSSClinical Skills RequiredCardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drip management (without titration)IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central and peripheral line careRespiratory support, including nasal cannula and oxygen administration, as well as non-invasive airway managementFamiliarity with rapid response and code teams, along with isolation precautionsExperience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or similar stepdown settingsUnit DetailsPatient Ratios: 1:5Dedicated bed for chronic ventilator patientsSpecializes in care for Hospitalist Medicine patients with renal and other medical diagnosesFunctions as an alternative unit for gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and other surgical or procedural patientsAbout the HospitalThis is a private, not-for-profit, general acute care teaching hospital located in Roanoke, VA, with 703 licensed beds.
