Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Radiology Technologist \n Discipline: Allied Health Professional \n Start Date: ASAP \n Duration: 9 weeks \n 40 hours per week \n Shift: 8 hours, evenings \n Employment Type: Travel \n \n Job Summary (Radiologic Technologist): \n - Performs diagnostic general radiological procedures using various imaging equipment. \n - Acquires and processes patient exams per departmental protocols and accreditation/manufacturer guidelines. \n - Reviews cases, labs, and patient history to ensure correct exams and consults with radiologists as needed. \n - Administers IV, oral, and rectal contrast materials, and monitors for adverse/allergic reactions. \n - Screens for potential pregnancy and conducts pregnancy testing when indicated. \n - Ensures radiology orders are complete and accurate; obtains additional information when necessary. \n - Critiques images for positioning, technical quality, and alignment; reviews and verifies patient data. \n - Transfers and verifies images in PACS; ensures relevant medical history is included for interpretation. \n - Uses email/web systems to send exams for after-hours preliminary readings. \n - Maintains imaging equipment, supplies, and a clean, orderly work area; reports equipment issues promptly. \n - Promotes safety for patients, visitors, and staff; reports safety events or near misses immediately. \n - Assists in training students and new staff; may serve as Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator as needed. \n - Meets department productivity benchmarks and supports other areas during downtime. \n - Performs duties in other imaging modalities as licensed and cross-trained. \n - Complies with requirements for cross-trained modalities as needed. \n - Demonstrates a positive attitude and initiative in improving the work environment. \n - Manages multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and technical procedures. \n - Required education: Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Radiologic Technology. \n - Required certifications: BLS (AHA), IEMA Radiography License (Illinois), ARRT (R). \n - Schedule: Evening shifts (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM), 10 hours per day. \n - Must be fluent in English (speak, read, write). \n Med Ninjas Job ID 15037.
