Position Summary:
The Community Impact Coordinator serves as a strategic relationship-builder and systems partner who helps position SafeSpace as a visible, trusted, and influential leader across the region. This role strengthens community partnerships, leads domestic violence task force coordination, advances systems change initiatives, expands training and technical assistance, and develops public policy recommendations that improve prevention, intervention, survivor access, and regional response. The position also translates SafeSpace’s community presence into stronger awareness, referrals, volunteer engagement, donor relationships, and long-term community investment.

Community Partnership and Regional Presence
- Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with law enforcement agencies, courts, community justice partners, healthcare systems, schools, local governments, and nonprofit providers across all counties served.
- Represent SafeSpace in community meetings, coalitions, partner events, tabling opportunities, and public awareness activities.
- Develop community engagement strategies that strengthen awareness, referral partnerships, volunteer engagement and community collaboration.
Task Force Leadership and Systems Change
- Coordinate Circuit-19 domestic violence task force efforts including meeting planning, partner engagement, follow-up, and action tracking.
- Identify system gaps, recurring barriers, and cross-sector challenges affecting survivor safety and access to services.
- Advance and promote collaborative strategies that improve regional response, interagency coordination, accountability, and continuity of care for survivors. Serve as an internal connector between community feedback and SafeSpace leadership so emerging issues inform strategy and service delivery.
Training, Technical Assistance, and Public Education
- Develop and deliver trainings, presentations, and technical assistance for community partners, professional audiences, and referral organizations.
- Develop and maintain standards, resources, and processes that promote consistency, quality, and effectiveness in community presentations and public engagement activities. Promote best practices related to domestic violence, survivor-centered response, trauma-informed engagement, and community collaboration.
- Collaborate with development and program staff to ensure messaging is accurate, mission-aligned, and responsive to community needs.
Policy and Community Impact Strategy
- Monitor and evaluate regional trends, partner feedback, and systemic issues to inform public policy recommendations and community impact priorities.
- Develop recommendations that strengthen prevention, intervention, housing access, survivor safety, offender accountability, and coordinated response.
- Represent SafeSpace as a knowledgeable resource in discussions related to domestic violence, service access, and regional systems improvement.
Development and Organizational Support
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with community partners, civic groups, businesses, donors, and volunteers through stronger local presence and outreach.
- Share community insights that can support fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, grant positioning, and public awareness efforts.
- Partner with staff on launch events, stakeholder cultivation, and communications that highlight SafeSpace’s impact in the region.
- Track outreach activity, partnership development, and community outcomes in a consistent way that supports reporting and strategic planning.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, criminal justice, public health, nonprofit leadership, communications, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in community engagement, victim services, systems coordination, advocacy, training, coalition work, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience building relationships with multiple stakeholders and navigating cross-sector partnerships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, facilitation, and professional follow-up.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong organization and follow-through.
- Commitment to survivor-centered, trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice.

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass Level 2 background screening
Preferred
- Experience related to domestic violence, sexual violence, victim advocacy, homelessness, housing, human services, or community justice systems.
- Knowledge of the Treasure Coast region and experience working across multiple counties or jurisdictions.
- Experience with task forces, advisory groups, policy development, or systems-change initiatives.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills that support community engagement.

Training Requirements:
Required onboarding training will be conducted at the Administrative office or designated location during the hours of 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday regardless of shift schedule. Must successfully complete CORE Competency training provided by the agency within 90 days of employment and participate in ongoing mandatory education and skills training on relevant topics as required by statutory funding, certification of the agency or personnel, or as identified to improve employee performance. Must maintain annual training requirements outlined in the employee manual.
Work Environment:
This position requires regular travel throughout the service region, participation in occasional early morning, evening and weekend community events, and the ability to represent SafeSpace in professional and public settings. This position operates in public community locations and office settings and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to manage and transport occasional lifting of mail/event materials (reasonable accommodation available).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
