Work Environment
As a Remote Telehealth Mental Health Counselor, you will operate from a home office or any location conducive to providing confidential and focused therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group counseling to clients through secure virtual platforms, ensuring a safe and trusting environment.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to each client's needs, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices.
- Conduct thorough intake assessments to understand clients’ backgrounds, challenges, and therapeutic needs.
- Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with the multidisciplinary VIEW team to enhance overall client care and treatment plans.
- Participate regularly in team meetings, contributing clinical insights and updates regarding client progress and program developments.
- Monitor and review client progress throughout the therapeutic process, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
- Involve yourself in the development and implementation of recovery-focused initiatives aimed at enhancing community outreach and service effectiveness.
- Contribute to ongoing evaluations of VIEW services to ensure alignment with best practices and organizational goals.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The clients you will work with encompass a wide range of backgrounds, presenting various mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. The population served is primarily based in Washington State, focusing on creating inclusive and supportive treatment for individuals and families who may face barriers to accessed mental health care.
Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
- Current licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) through the Washington State Department of Health.
- A minimum of 3 to 4 years of direct clinical experience in mental health counseling or therapy.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a strong ability to actively listen and respond empathetically to clients' needs.
- Proven ability to foster trust and rapport with clients, promoting a safe therapeutic environment.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively alongside a diverse team of clinical professionals.
- A responsive attitude to issues of mental health stigma, with a commitment to advocacy and community engagement.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check prior to employment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with diverse populations, including varying age groups, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses.
- Proficiency with telehealth platforms and digital counseling tools.
- Experience in program development, particularly in recovery-focused initiatives.
- Familiarity with documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
