Description

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN with cardiac surgery circulating experience and prior travel nursing experience for a hospital operating room position.

Details

• Work in the CVOR performing circulating duties for cardiac surgery, with scrub ability preferred
• Covers all surgical services except ophthalmology and transplant
• Day shift schedule of 5x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• On-call requirement with a rotating 3 days on, 3 days off schedule
• Must be available within 30 minutes of the hospital when on call
• Weekend requirement is call only
• Float to Mchenry facility during training
• May be subject to floating between health system facilities upon manager request

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in hand required; emergency or pending licenses not accepted
• BSN required
• BLS certification required (AHA); ACLS preferred (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytical skills
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, IABP, MAZE Procedure, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, aortic aneurysm repair, and atherectomy
• Experience with TAVR and LVAD/RVAD preferred
• Experience with atrial septal defect repair and scrubbing cardiovascular surgery preferred
• Two professional references required, with one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year
• Skills checklist required for consideration
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot be added later

Additional Information

• Circulate cardiac surgery cases across all services except ophthalmology and transplant
• Employment history must include any prior work with the health system or its acquired facilities, if applicable
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the local rate
• Vaccination status must be provided at time of consideration
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position given the travel experience requirement
