About the Position

Job Title: EEG Technician Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: EEG Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (15:00 - 23:30) Experience: Minimum of 3 recent years of experience in a level 1 trauma and/or teaching facility with SEEG and SPECT in an epilepsy monitoring unit License: Graduate of an approved school in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology Certifications: BLS, R.EEGT. Must-Have: Pediatric experience preferred Description: Evening shifts, Monday - Friday, from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, with some weekends. No on-call required. The EEG Technician will perform diagnostic testing procedures, including electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTM), and intensive care unit and continuous EEG monitoring (ICU/EEG). These procedures are performed under the supervision of senior staff and may require analyzing data during recordings to ensure information is valid and interpretable. Relevant patient history will guide the testing process; therefore, a solid understanding of clinical neurology is necessary. The EEG Technician will work in various settings, including outpatient laboratories, emergency rooms, operating rooms, intensive care units, special monitoring units, or at patients' bedsides. A combination of training and experience as a practicing Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist is required. Candidates without R EEGT certification must still demonstrate the minimum 3 years of recent experience in a level 1 trauma facility or similar. Preferred experience in pediatric settings is advantageous. Familiarity with specific EEG equipment and procedures is expected.
