Buyer/Planner Position

Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Buyer/Planner position located in Orlando, FL. This position is a direct hire opportunity which is expected to be on-site.

Responsibilities

The selected Buyer Planner will be responsible for coordinating procurement and material planning activities to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures the timely availability of raw materials and components while optimizing inventory levels, controlling costs, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The Buyer/Planner works cross-functionally with production, engineering, and logistics teams to align supply with demand and support overall operational efficiency.

Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory targets to develop material plans

Ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to support manufacturing operations

Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages, excess, and obsolescence

Issue and manage purchase orders, including order confirmations, changes, and expediting

Source and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance

Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers as appropriate

Track and report supplier performance, addressing any delivery or quality issues

Collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to align material needs

Communicate material risks, delays, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders

Firms and/or create production orders for assigned work centers

Uses critical thinking to ensure plans are attainable

Work on material shortages and communicate with the necessary teams

Work toward exceeding all timelines and delivery goals for both internal and external customers

Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems

Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, service levels, and supplier performance

Identify and implement cost savings and process improvement opportunities

Supports the Master Planner by performing assigned planning and coordination duties to maintain operations efficiency

Provides back-up support to the Shipping & Receiving Department as needed to ensure uninterrupted department operational

Drives continuous improvement methodology for planning functions

Reports on defined KPIs

Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to 5S and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) policies
