Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of high school education Age 17 with work permit Reading and math ability appropriate to the position; basic phone skills; familiar with patient call systems and pagers Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required Job Overview This position provides assistance and/or performs basic activities of daily living and specified treatments and procedures under the direct supervision of the nurse. It may perform non‑direct patient care activities as assigned, requested, or directed, and also performs clerical duties as assigned. Must have interpersonal skills to communicate with respect and compassion to customers. The position also communicates information through various telecommunication devices and assists in coordinating patient flow. Maintains a safe environment, reports safety hazards, completes safety event report as necessary, complies with infection control policies, demonstrates knowledge of safety/emergency policies and procedures, places emergency calls timely as directed (Code Blue etc.). Maintains the medical record, documents accurately, performs computer downtime procedures, maintains knowledge of computer applications, provides clerical support as needed. Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under RN supervision, maintains competency, completes tasks within required timeframe, seeks clarification from nurse. Performs supply, equipment, and environmental‑related activities, reports problems with equipment, ensures availability, ensures equipment/supplies are ready.
