ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Healthcare Private Equity Platform | New York, NY | Hybrid – 3 Days In Office

A healthcare-focused private equity firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its finance team and serve as a key partner to the CFO. This is a hands-on role spanning accounting, cash management, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, with significant exposure to senior leadership and the firm’s financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and review of financial results
• Oversee cash management, including cash flow monitoring, liquidity planning, and banking activities
• Prepare and review monthly financial reporting and management reporting packages
• Partner with the CFO on budgets, forecasts, and financial planning
• Analyze actual results against budget and forecast, identifying key variances and trends
• Maintain accurate financial records across the firm's entities and investment-related operations
• Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures
• Assist the CFO with financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, and other strategic finance initiatives
• Coordinate with external accounting, tax, audit, and other financial service providers as needed
• Serve as a key point of contact between accounting and senior leadership, providing timely and accurate financial information

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong foundation in monthly close, financial reporting, and cash management
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with a CFO and senior leadership
• Private equity, investment management, healthcare, or financial services experience preferred
