Reliability Engineer

Job Summary Airbus Aerosystems is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join the Engineering department in Kinston, NC. The role reports to the Ho J&T, Robotics, Des, Acq & Maint and focuses on ensuring legislative compliance and driving improvements in asset safety, reliability and availability across the Industrial Maintenance organization. Areas of Responsibility Develop and maintain the maintenance strategy for new technologies in Airbus Aerostructures. Create a spare parts strategy for critical assets. Protect the safety of maintenance personnel and asset users. Deploy maintenance strategies to deliver cost‑effective safety and reliability aligned to customer needs. Measure and manage effective asset performance. Engage the Industrial Maintenance team through improvement, communication and development initiatives. Communicate with customers and key stakeholders. Develop and deploy maintenance plans for new and existing asset introductions. Main Activities Ensure best‑in‑class safety systems and legislative compliance are embedded in all plans. Champion a safety‑first culture within the maintenance engineering team. Implement proactive maintenance technologies and best practices. Participate in change management and maintain compliance with Airbus procedures and policies. Support the development, deployment and upkeep of the Maintenance Plan for all assets. Lead early‑stage cost‑of‑ownership and maintenance budgeting for asset change or acquisition. Drive cost‑saving initiatives through employee engagement and technical input. Create maintenance reduction projects balanced with reliability and safety. Prepare business cases for improvement and risk‑reduction projects. Produce effective asset performance metrics. Develop tailored improvement plans for asset groups to improve reliability and availability. Project‑manage simple, low‑cost refurbishment projects. Provide technical support for large refurbishment, acquisition and change projects. Implement proactive maintenance methodologies (CBM, PM, RCM, Autonomous Maintenance). Champion Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Contribute to the overall management of the Industrial Maintenance business. Outputs Compliance with FU.IN.07 process. Asset reliability meeting Technical Availability targets. Successful implementation of strategy and improvement projects. Customer satisfaction and service level achieved. Proactive working culture via governance, controls and continuous improvement. Education & Experience Five or more years of experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR Two or more years of relevant experience and a Master's Degree. Travel 5% domestic and international travel. Citizenship & Security US Person under ITAR definition, OR Eligible to work in the USA. Clearance No clearance required. Physical Requirements Onsite 100% of the time. Vision, hearing, speaking, and equipment operation abilities as described above. Ability to carry, lift, push/pull up to 30 lbs / 14 kg. Standing, walking, squatting/kneeling, sitting for extended periods, as required. Personal protective equipment required.
