Registered Nurse (RN)

This position is responsible for delivering coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The role includes supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinating care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
• Acute care facility experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per organizational policy: Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor per organizational policy: Required

Essential Functions

• Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develop a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes.
• Implement the care plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
• Evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes.
• Identify outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.
• Collaborate with a team including patients, families, and healthcare providers to deliver care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
• Provide learning opportunities and health information to patients and family members.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate the duties of healthcare team members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
