We are seeking an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel trucks and equipment to ensure maximum performance and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, preventative maintenance programs, parts ordering, and computerized diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings.
• Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete inspections and document maintenance and repair activities.
• Order parts and maintain inventory of shop supplies and commonly used components.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs when necessary.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with DOT regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
• Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and repair software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working in a shop and field environment.
