Job OverviewTowerLight Senior Living is located in historic St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Only 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, we are near public transportation and the crossroads of Highways 7 and 100. Our community offers 115 units of beautifully appointed Independent Living Apartments, innovative Assisted Living Apartments, state-of-the art Memory Care and Enhanced Care Suites (as well as an intergenerational day care). Our tenured team ensures a strong commitment to delivering high end comfort and the best senior care available for our residents.The Culinary Director is responsible for overseeing all dining services operations and ensuring that meals are prepared and presented in accordance with applicable regulations and customer expectations.This Nutrition Leadership schedule includes;80 hours every two weeks ; Full TimeMonday-Friday scheduleWeekends as neededResponsibilitiesPlans and manages all aspects of dining services operations:Follow Corporate menusManages inventory and food/supplies budgetAssists with planning and developing menus for upcoming weekPrepares and/or oversees food preparation ensuring that proper sanitation and food handling techniques are usedMakes substitutions and revisions as necessary to accommodate special dietary needs of residentsMaintains storage area and inventoriesEnsures that kitchen and storage areas are clean and orderlyPlace order through online ordering platform and process PO & subsequent invoicing requirementsFood Preparation:Properly cook foods to specified temperaturesProducts meet temperature and quality standardsFollow standardized recipes and products to ensure products are consistent in quality and nutritional valueWeigh and measure ingredients per standardized recipesUse correct portioning utensilsAssemble food within specified time framesProduction is and meal service is provided in a timely mannerPrepare bakery items per standardized recipesAccurately complete tasks listed on daily preparation sheets.Assist with the special events.Proper knowledge and prep of texturized diets utilizing International Dysphagia Diet Standardization (IDDSI).All texturized diets are prepared within the IDDSI framework and standards.Sanitize equipment and work area after each use.Maintain a “clean as you go” attitude demonstrated by a clean work area.Clean and sanitize equipment after each use or per the routine cleaning schedule.Use appropriate equipment and chemicals according to manufacturer’s recommendations.Maintain separate clean and dirty areas in work area.Scrub pots/pans in the 3-compartment sink area.Hires and supervises dining staff:Ensures that new employees are properly trained and oriented to their job responsibilitiesProvides on-going performance feedback and addresses performance issues in a timely and appropriate mannerConducts 90-day and annual performance reviews in a timely mannerPromotes working relations and teamwork among employeesPromotes positive resident relations and satisfaction:Ensures that dining area is clean and invitingWelcomes residents, initiates conversation and encourages socializationSolicits resident feedback and suggestions.Listens to complaints and responds professionally and appropriately.
