This role requires a seasoned Assurance professional with a robust understanding of the Life Sciences and SEC sectors, complemented by strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Your Responsibilities Lead a talented audit engagement team in planning and executing world‑class client services. Oversee daily operations of audit engagements including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and financial reporting. Mentor and train engagement staff, fostering open lines of communication with both engagement managers and partners. Collaborate with managers and partners for timely client issue resolution and suggest operational or internal control enhancements. Manage multiple engagements concurrently, maintaining focus on client deadlines. Monitor engagement budgets, identify inefficiencies, and uphold profitable realization rates. Evaluate work papers for compliance with professional standards and firm policies. Review reports, financial statements, and SEC filings. Discuss significant findings with the engagement partner that may require auditing standard clarifications. Implement risk management practices and assure adherence to quality control procedures. Engage in practice development and oversee multiple engagements. Manage expectations for both employees and clients effectively. Build and maintain positive relationships with client management. Take responsibility for billing and collections as appropriate. Empower team members through on‑the‑job training and development. Participate in performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to employees. Drive new business growth from existing and potential clients. Represent the firm at third‑party events, showcasing your areas of expertise. Engage in firm activities and maintain annual CPE requirements. What We’re Looking For BBA/BS/MS in Accounting. Proficient knowledge of GAAP and PCAOB/SEC regulations. Familiarity with life science transactions, including complex debt/equity dealings, warrant accounting, and stock‑based compensation. Minimum of 4 years relevant experience. Must possess a valid CPA license. Strong analytical, technical, and auditing skills, particularly in SEC Assurance. Ability to communicate professional knowledge clearly and effectively. Excellent advisory skills and problem‑solving capabilities. Awareness and understanding of complex technical issues. Ability to meet strict deadlines with precision. Outstanding client service and communication abilities to cultivate excellent client relationships. Capability to juggle multiple engagements and projects within a fast‑paced, results‑oriented team environment. Strong leadership, mentoring, and training skills with adept verbal, written, and presentation capabilities. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. The compensation for this role in New Jersey ranges from $110,000 to $190,000, accompanied by a competitive benefits package and, for eligible positions, a bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Final compensation amounts will be determined based on various factors including role, location, and applicants’ qualifications.
