Job Summary Material Planner V will be the functional leader responsible for management and execution of all phases of the assigned program production plans. This includes coordination with program scheduler/planner, determination of production schedule requirements, and integration with key program functions and suppliers to develop, maintain and drive successful and timely execution of detailed production plans. The position focuses primarily on programs in the prototyping, design and development portion of the product life cycle and requires strong experience with organizing and planning to accomplish program objectives and demands. Responsibilities Partner with the program manager, program planner/scheduler, control account managers and other program team members from the supply chain, quality and operations functions to strategize and create a plan that ensures production schedules and supply and demand requirements are aligned to meet program deliverable requirements. Communicate effectively with program teams, company management, business partners, and customers, both spoken and written. Coordinate with the program team to develop the production schedule based on lead time analysis of each supplier/operation required to meet program need dates according to the program IMS. Plan, direct and monitor execution of the production schedule through timely release of engineering drawings and issuance of purchase requisitions and purchase orders, tracking supplier status at each stage to ensure timely order fulfillment. Create and utilize tools required to status on‑going efforts in all stages of the production plan to enable active management of the plan. Work closely with VTS management and the program team to ensure that all supply/demand risks and critical shortage issues are identified early and proactively addressed. Conduct status meetings with internal and external customers. Develop processes for monitoring and reporting production capacity, purchasing activities and critical shortages. Support the development and implementation of performance metrics such as On‑Time Purchase Requisition issuance, On‑Time Delivery to Contract and On‑Time Delivery to Manufacturing. Manage order demand within Costpoint or equivalent MRP system. Ensure adherence to all internal supply chain and operations processes. Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem‑solving meetings. Other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in supply chain management. Minimum 20 years of production control, material planning and/or production scheduling experience, including at least five years of managing DOD propulsion‑related programs. Minimum five years of experience working production control and material planning for programs in the prototyping, design and development portion of the product life cycle. Experience managing Department of Defense programs for the U.S. Government. Experience across various ERP systems including MRP, Costpoint, SAP, Oracle or similar tools. Direct experience in managing large subcontracts. Experience briefing program teams, executive management and customers on production plan status, risks, and future. Ability to multi‑task in a highly collaborative team environment while solving problems quickly and accurately, particularly with exceptions in MRP, Bills of Material, material planning, purchase requisitions, purchase orders and ECOs. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and overall knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project). Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Preferred Qualifications Experience with AS9100 and DCMA standards. Demonstrated expertise in Master Production Scheduling. Demonstrated expertise in lean and six sigma principles. Experience working Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements. Familiarity with Lean Enterprise Institute or equivalent principles involving manufacturing, quality, or supply chain management. Experience using Integrated Program Management Tools. Currently holds an active DoD Secret Clearance. Voyager offers a comprehensive, total compensation package, which includes competitive salary, a discretionary annual bonus plan, paid time off (PTO), a comprehensive health benefit package, retirement savings, wellness program, and various other benefits. The salary range for this position is $130,000 – $150,000 USD. Actual compensation will vary based on location, experience and performance.
