Position Summary:

• Assures and assists in provision of optimum quality patient care by serving as resource person for other staff members, patients and family.
• Coordinates patient care with registered nurse and other departments.
• Assists the physician.
• Performs data collection and obtains patient information.
• Assists the RN with patient care.
• Intervenes with appropriate action after needs are identified.
• Evaluates the assignment, planning and intervention process.
• Demonstrates professional and personal development.
• Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures.

Minimum Education

Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days.

Required Licenses[West Virginia, United States] Other

Current licensure by the WV State LPN Board
