Development Director – Full Time, Exempt, Salaried Reports to: Executive Director Vision: To create and foster world‑class art and artists that inspire Columbus and beyond Mission: To entertain, engage and educate through dance Responsibilities Create overall strategy, plan, implementation, management and evaluation of fundraising campaigns, events and programs that deepen donor commitment and generate contributed revenue. Facilitate cultivation and solicitation by trustees and leadership team. Establish goals for fundraising from all constituent segments: Board, Corporate, Foundation, Government, Individuals and Events. Monitor and analyze results, providing timely reports to BalletMet leadership and trustees. Maintain and elevate current donors and identify new to expand the number of donors and funds raised to benefit BalletMet. Create a welcoming culture for donors and patrons with a comprehensive donor engagement plan and personal donor stewardship. Research, identify, cultivate and obtain Major Gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations. Acquire and maintain knowledge of key programs across the organization, developing strong relationships with leadership team members and direct providers. Support and assess impact of Special Events (including Nutcracker Ball, Director’s Circle and Inside BalletMet), working closely with development staff and volunteer leaders. Ensure the timely acknowledgement of donations and accuracy of donor data and reports. Oversee playbill and website donor recognition. Develop and manage the department expense budget. Conduct weekly Development staff meetings to evaluate progress and refine goals, strategy or tactics as needed. Mentor, guide and manage Development team members. Represent the Development Department at leadership team and board meetings and committees. Prepare reports and best practice information to guide success. General responsibilities: Work as a collaborative Senior Management Team and BalletMet staff member. Support BalletMet events and fundraising outcomes. Bachelor’s degree, 6–8 years of relevant development, marketing, Major Gifts and campaign experience or equivalent combination of same. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build strong donor relationships. Commitment to collaborative relationships and supportive leadership. Annual and long‑range planning expertise; budgeting and financial acumen. Experience with Microsoft Windows and web‑based applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google docs. Aptitude and/or experience with database systems (Raiser’s Edge, Tessitura, Donor Search). Ability to maintain confidentiality, sensitivity to gift histories and BalletMet proprietary information. Ability to remain flexible and prioritize changing demands. Costume & Shoe Support Staff – Full Time, Non‑Exempt, Seasonal Reports to: Costume & Shoe Supervisor Contract Dates: August 24th 2026 – May 30th 2027 Vision: To create and foster world‑class art and artists that inspire Columbus and beyond Mission: To entertain, engage and educate through dance Responsibilities Maintain the appearance and integrity of all aspects of costumes, hair, wigs and makeup for BalletMet company productions while in the theater, ensuring that the designer’s vision remains intact. Execute and/or supervise the cleaning, organizing, and repairing of all costumes and costume pieces during the run of each production. Train and supervise costume crews for all performances of professional company shows, including weekends and occasional holidays. Communicate all necessary wardrobe related information with performers, including quick changes, dressing room assignments, wardrobe plots. Organize and pack costumes for shipment to and from the theater, and clean and restock costumes after the close of each production. Work with Costume & Shoe Supervisor and BalletMet Academy leadership to coordinate student costume fittings and provide necessary costume related information and paperwork for all company productions. Work with Costume Shop Staff to perform stitching, alterations and craft work as assigned. Assist with the maintaining of costume storage and processing of costume rentals. Provide wardrobe assistance for other BalletMet events as assigned. Take part in maintaining a healthy and safe work environment. Maintain confidentiality. Contribute to the overall success of BalletMet by maintaining productive and professional relationships with staff, company members, guest artists and the public. Approach and carry out duties, as assigned above, with a positive attitude. Other duties as assigned. Qualities and Attributes Thorough knowledge of sewing practices, including both hand & machine sewing. Experience with draping, flat patterning, and fabric cutting. Knowledge of dance costuming and previous experience working with stretch fabrics is preferred but not required. Experience leading a team through the costume construction process. Ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines in time sensitive situations. Use of Microsoft and Google software suites. Ability to stand/perform duties for prolonged periods. Be able to lift 30+ pounds and climb ladders and stairs. Display exemplary organization and communication skills. Jazz Dance Instructor BalletMet is seeking a Jazz Dance instructor. Job requirements include teaching Jazz technique to our Intermediate and Advanced students with the goal of advancing each student’s understanding of fundamentals, technique, vocabulary, and presentation, as well as setting repertoire and creating performance choreography in multiple styles. Qualifications 2–5 years teaching experience. Strong written/verbal skills ensuring healthy communications between staff and families. Education Department Faculty – Part‑time, Non‑Salaried, Contract BalletMet is seeking to increase its Education Department Faculty for a position teaching dance to elementary‑high school students during the school year. Qualifications Experience teaching in public schools and/or private studios working with a variety of age groups. Teachers need to be organized, responsible, and energetic. Experience with developing curriculum, lesson plans and assessment protocol. Desire to share the art of dance with the community. A degree in dance or a related field and/or performance experience.
