Job Title: RN Pediatrics Profession: RN Pediatrics Specialty: RN Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, PALS Required Must-Have: Inpatient pediatric experience Description: BLS and PALS certifications are required. Floating house-wide for 1:1 coverage is a possibility, but rare. May float to cover Eat, Sleep, Console or feeder/grower assignments, depending on competence and comfort level of candidate. Two years of inpatient pediatric experience is required. The unit consists of LDRP rooms, NICU rooms, and pediatric rooms. Permanent staff are trained in both NICU and pediatrics. Care includes patients aged 0-17 years. Patients treated may require respiratory support, general surgery, limited orthopedics, diabetes management, general medical diagnoses, and outpatient infusions. Patient assignments are typically 3-4:1, depending on acuity. Core staffing includes RNs and LNAs per shift. Medical oversight is provided by Pediatric Clientists, who also cover the Emergency Department. Electronic medical records are managed through an EMR system. Staff are required to wear hospital-issued scrubs. NRP certification is also required.
