Production Supervisor 1st Shift

1 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to the Operations Manager.

2 PURPOSE

2.1 Function Motivate the work force to meet production and quality requirements while maintaining a safe work environment. Lead team to continuous improvement at all times. Develop / empower Team Leaders and operators to excel and to improve themselves and DAC. Address all substandard performance issues. To lead by example, not words. Maintain professional manner at all times 2.2 Authority To monitor and enforce policies and procedures that governs the production floor. Ensure that all policies are being carried out consistently between all Team Leaders. To assign, direct, coach, discipline associates as necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.

3 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspire teamwork among associates Solve production problems. Create a participative management environment. Meet production schedules, while finding ways to improve efficiency and reduce cost. Meet quality standards. Maintain a safe work environment for self and associates Train/cross train new and existing associates. Push for continuous improvements in safety, quality, cost, attendance, 5S, etc. Assemble / Lead cross functional teams to address production issues (i.e.: Morning Market, Q-UP, etc.) Create / maintain a proactive environment, not a reactive. Other duties as assigned.

4 MEASUREMENTS/COMPETENCIES

Cost (Eff. / TPU). Consumable supply cost. Scrap Cost. Quality (EOL defects, teardown, and first time through %). Employee morale (5S performance / Attendance). Safety record. On-time deliveries. Well-trained and flexible (cross trained) work force.

5 SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY

5.1 Direct Relationships Manages Production Team Leaders, B-Operators, and Production Associates as assigned. 5.2 Indirect Relationships Will interface with customers, Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, Human Resources, industrial relations, local community officials, and technical and trade organizations. 6 WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional environment, as well as a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This role also is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

7 QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in team concept desired Previous experience with CNC, robotic welders, injection molding and assembly process preferred. Proven track record of motivating employees. Previous experience in cellular manufacturing necessary. Understanding of modern production methods including poka yoke devices, single piece flow and JIT methods is necessary. Ability to train all levels of employees. Track record of meeting production schedules. Must be safety conscious. Ability to motivate associates to better themselves and DAC.

8 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift up to 32 pounds at a time. Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed. Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components. Must wear gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear protection, per the Elemental Operations Instructions Safety Points.

9 POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires extended hours and possible weekend work.

10 TRAVEL

Travel may be required.
