Travel Registered Nurse Emergency Department

Schedule

Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM7:30 AM (36 hours per pay period). Weekend requirement: every other weekend.

Assignment Details

Average daily census: 70; Visits/day: 160; Rooms: 36; Beds: 50. Orientation: 36 hours (up to 1 week class/clinical).

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years ED experience in a fast-paced environment with strong pediatric exposure.
• Pediatric experience highly preferred.
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I preferred.
• Travel RN experience required (no first-time travelers).
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI certifications required (AHA or Red Cross only).
• Experience with Epic EMR required.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients across all age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Perform triage and manage a variety of emergency presentations, including trauma, respiratory issues, and substance use emergencies.
• Administer medications and blood products, conduct IV starts/maintenance, and provide general adult and pediatric emergency care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management.
• Participate in special procedures such as conscious sedation and trauma/stroke activations.

Drug screen must be obtained within 14 days of start. References required. All allied travelers must have a valid state license. COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only).
