Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Not specified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: 2+ years as a respiratory therapist License: Current RT licensure in the State of Michigan Certifications: Current BLS certification from AHA; Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care Must-Have: - Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program - 2+ years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience - Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Description: Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gases therapy to patients. Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in Intensive Care and General Practice Units. Maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments as needed. Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees regarding patient care needs. Adequately documents all aspects of patient care. Supervises, directs, and delegates tasks to Respiratory Therapists, externs, and students, as assigned. Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information. Candidates with neonatal intensive care experience are preferred but not required. Experience working in a trauma facility is also preferred but not required.
