Travel Radiation Therapist Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Facility location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist for a 13‑week travel assignment in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One year of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist. Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Current ARRT Certification. Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position. Summary A Radiation Therapist administers targeted radiation therapy to treat cancerous tumors as prescribed by radiologists and oncologists. The role involves positioning patients precisely, operating advanced equipment, ensuring patient safety, monitoring responses, and collaborating with the healthcare team. Essential Work Functions Position patients for treatment with accuracy, according to prescription to ensure effective treatment and minimize exposure to healthy tissue. Administer prescribed doses of radiation to targeted body parts using equipment per established practices and safety protocols. Perform regular equipment checks to ensure proper functionality and troubleshoot as needed. Review prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification to confirm accuracy and compliance with the treatment plan. Follow radiation protection principles to ensure safety for patients, self, and others. Maintain records, reports, or files required, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, or patient reactions. Conduct treatment sessions independently, in accordance with long‑term treatment plan and under general direction of the physician. Enter data into computer and set controls to operate or adjust equipment or regulate dosage. Observe and reassure patients during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician. Perform other duties within the scope of Radiation Therapist practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) with a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently without assistance from other personnel. Manage irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail.
