Job Description
Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe and sterile environment for surgical procedures.

Shift Details

  • Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Holiday Rotation: Required
Floating Requirements
  • May be required to float within the scope to meet facility needs.
  • Floating to sister facilities may be necessary.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
  • Level 1 Trauma center experience required.
  • Experience in sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments.
  • Preferred experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN cases.
  • National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.
  • BLS certification is not required.
Additional Information
  • Local candidates living within a 60-mile radius are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be provided at the time of submission. No RTO will be approved after the contract is signed.
  • The facility reserves the right to call off one shift per two weeks.
  • During hurricane season (June to November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. It's advised to avoid confirming new contracts during peak hurricane activity months (August and September).

  • Parking: A one-time payment of $20 is required for a parking pass on nights and weekends.
