Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners in a vibrant, collaborative school environment near Danbury, CT. This full-time, onsite contract role focuses on guiding a small class of Pre-K and Kindergarten students, each receiving individualized attention with the support of dedicated one-on-one aides. The current assignment continues through February 26, with the possibility for extension. This position offers the chance to make a real difference in a close-knit classroom setting, with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the building to provide additional expertise.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with Pre-K and Kindergarten-aged children
- Strong background in modifying curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and support staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment for all learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for a classroom of approximately seven students
- Adapt lessons and instructional materials to suit varying abilities
- Partner with one-on-one aides to ensure each child receives targeted support
- Work collaboratively with the onsite BCBA to integrate behavioral strategies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Foster positive relationships with students and their families
