QA/QC Technician – Utility Scale Solar & Battery Energy Storage (BESS)Are you passionate about quality, construction excellence, and renewable energy? We are seeking a QA/QC Technician to support some of the nation's largest utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for ensuring that solar generation and energy storage installations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance before commissioning.This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in solar, electrical, power generation, substations, battery storage, or industrial construction who want to play a critical role in building the future of clean energy.As a QA/QC Technician, you will serve as the on-site quality representative, working closely with field leadership, engineering teams, commissioning personnel, and clients to ensure work is installed correctly the first time.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform quality inspections across solar, electrical, civil, mechanical, and battery energy storage scopes of workVerify installation compliance with approved drawings, specifications, construction standards, and manufacturer requirementsInspect and document BESS equipment installations including battery containers, PCS units, inverter skids, transformers, cable terminations, grounding systems, and associated infrastructureIdentify deficiencies early and drive corrective actions to protect project schedules, budgets, and warranty requirementsGenerate and manage punch lists while tracking corrective actions through completionConduct internal turnover inspections and support client acceptance inspectionsReview field installation practices to ensure adherence to quality management plans and project standardsMaintain inspection reports, turnover packages, quality records, and testing documentationCollaborate with commissioning teams to verify readiness for startup and energization activitiesUtilize Procore, Bluebeam, and other quality tracking systems to document findings and maintain project recordsParticipate in daily planning meetings and provide quality updates to project leadershipSupport client walkthroughs and serve as a point of contact for quality-related inquiriesIdentify and communicate both quality and safety concerns in the fieldPromote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycleWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications2+ years of QA/QC, inspection, electrical, solar, or construction experienceAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical one-lines, specifications, and installation detailsStrong understanding of quality control processes and documentation requirementsExcellent attention to detail and ability to identify installation deficienciesComfortable working independently in an active construction environmentStrong communication and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with construction management software and Microsoft OfficePreferred QualificationsUtility-scale solar construction experienceBattery Energy Storage System (BESS) experienceElectrical construction, substation, power generation, or commissioning experienceExperience inspecting battery containers, inverters, transformers, SCADA systems, switchgear, or medium-voltage equipmentOSHA 30 CertificationExperience using Procore, Bluebeam, Salesforce, or other project management platformsKnowledge of solar commissioning, energization, and turnover processesUnderstanding of NEC, NFPA, and utility-scale energy construction standardsWhy Join Us?Competitive Compensation Package10% Annual Bonus OpportunityQuarterly Retirement ContributionsStrong 401(k) MatchMonthly Per DiemCompany Vehicle ProvidedComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision BenefitsCareer Growth Within Rapidly Expanding Solar & Energy Storage MarketsOpportunity to Work on Multi-Million Dollar Renewable Energy ProjectsAs investment in renewable energy and battery storage continues to accelerate, this position offers long-term career stability and exposure to cutting-edge technologies that are transforming the power industry.Work EnvironmentThis role is based on an active construction site, working full-time on-site through the duration of the project. The work takes place primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, requiring comfort with standing, walking, climbing, and moving around active construction activities throughout the day. The environment involves close collaboration with field engineers, superintendents, project managers, commissioning teams, and safety personnel. You will regularly use construction documentation platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office, as well as quality tracking tools and standard inspection equipment. Safety is a core focus, with strict adherence to site safety policies and procedures and a strong emphasis on hazard recognition and reporting. The setting is fast-paced and dynamic, offering hands-on experience in solar, electrical, mechanical, and civil construction quality control.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Houston, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $56160.00/yr.
